이 프로젝트는 무엇인가?

“아이고! 몇 년 전에 읽은 책 내용도 하나도 기억을 못하겠네!”

• 솔루션: 이제부터는 읽을 때 노트 필기하기, 나중에 복습하기

“근데 나도 날 알거든. 무조건 한 달 안에 포기할 거임.”

• 솔루션: 깃허브에 공개로 올려서 안 읽으면 스스로 쪽팔리게 만들기

노트 정리를 어떻게 할 건가?

노트 정리 방식이 얼마나 화려하든 실제로 정리를 하지 않으면 말짱 도루묵이므로, 그냥 실행하기 제일 쉬운 방식을 선택한다.

• 챕터별로 정리하기.
• 흥미로운 글귀 적기.
• 미래의 나를 위해 적기. 다른 사람들이 읽는지는 신경 안 쓰기.

영어 책 읽고 정리할 때에는 한국어 영어 편한 대로 섞어 쓴다.

책 한 권을 끝낸 후에는 리뷰를 적을 수 있다. 이때 Goodreads 같은 사이트를 참고해 다른 사람들의 의견도 참고할 수 있다.

평점을 매길 수도 있다. 평점은 나만의 방식으로 다음과 같이 매길 것이다.

• 좋은 부분들이 얼마나 좋았나? 점수를 +0점에서 +5점까지 준다.
• 나쁜 부분들이 얼마나 나빴나? 점수를 -0점에서 -5점까지 준다.

예를 들어 어떤 소설이 중간중간 재밌긴 했는데 엔딩이 완전히 망해서 소설 전체가 망가졌다고 하자. 그러면 평점으로 +2 -5 같은 점수를 줄 수 있겠다.

Project Explanation(english)

What is this project?

“Oh no! I can't remember anything from all the books I've read a few years ago!”

• Solution: From now on, take notes when reading. Review them afterwards.

“But I know myself. I'm definitely gonna give up before a month.”

• Solution: Take notes on a public github repo so I become embarassed if I don't read.

How do I take notes?  

No fancy note-taking skills matter if I don't actually read and take notes, so I'm just going for the method that is easiest to implement.

• Summarize each chapter of the book.
• Write down some of the interesting lines.
• Write for me in the future to read. Do not care about other people reading.

I'll mix Korean and English while taking note of English books, because that's what I'm comfortable with.

After completing a book, I may write a review. I could refer to sites like Goodreads for other people's opinions.

I may give a rating too. I use my own rating scale, which is very simple:

• How good are the good parts? Give a positive score of +0 ~ +5.
• How bad are the bad parts? Give a negative score of -0 ~ -5.

For example, if a novel had some good writing but the ending completely ruined the entire book, then I might give something like a +2 -5.
