Added <runtime>java8</runtime> in appengine-web.xml so gradle task :backend:appengineStart runs again properly Due to issue udacity#85 and other students including me having issue, while starting the gradle task, i fixed this. This should work for everybody regardless if Java 8 or later is used. The problem was that a file is searched which is not there users\name\AppData\Local\google\ct4j-cloud-sdk\LATEST\google-cloud-sdk\platform\google_appengine\google\appengine\tools\java\lib\agent\appengine-agent.jar Fix for issue udacity#85
