Easier for people to contribute and if we find a package that can build the UI in the column layout it'll probably work with markdown files so we're ready
Hope this is right and covers enough stuff

Used Markdown so need #5 merged first (although this is a branch off of that so at the moment it includes the changes). Put things under a beta folder which we can rename when it becomes the public version.
