I'm genuinely curious as to why this is better than just using System.Diagnostics.Stopwatch.

don‘t know if it‘s better. but stopwatch is not the same, this returns ticks since initialization

Couldn't you just start a stopwatch at the same time as initialisation, and then use Stopwatch.ElapsedTicks. I've got nothing against adding these, just trying to figure out the use case since it makes sense to me to use what .NET already provides.
