ParaFlow

AI-powered personal assistant that captures, processes, and organizes your thoughts into the PARA framework using clean hexagonal architecture.

🎯 Current Status: Notion API MVP Complete + Database CRUD

The project now features a complete Notion API integration MVP that demonstrates all CRUD operations using hexagonal architecture principles. This implementation serves as the foundation for building the full PARA framework.

Key Features Implemented:

  • βœ… Complete CRUD operations for Notion pages
  • βœ… Complete CRUD operations for Notion databases
  • βœ… Database pages support using existing Page operations
  • βœ… Hexagonal architecture with ports and adapters
  • βœ… Comprehensive test suite (75 total tests: 36 unit tests + 39 integration/contract tests)
  • βœ… Authentication and configuration management
  • βœ… Error handling and validation
  • βœ… Demo script for quick verification

πŸ—οΈ Architecture Overview

ParaFlow follows hexagonal architecture (ports and adapters pattern) to ensure clean separation of concerns and technology independence:

πŸš€ Quick Start

1. Environment Setup

# Clone the repository
git clone https://github.com/yourusername/ParaFlow.git
cd ParaFlow

# Copy the example environment file
cp .env.example .env

# Edit .env with your Notion credentials
NOTION_TOKEN=your_notion_integration_token
NOTION_DATABASE_ID=your_notion_page_id

2. Install Dependencies

# Create virtual environment (recommended)
python -m venv .venv

# Activate virtual environment
source .venv/bin/activate  # On Windows: .venv\Scripts\activate

# Install all dependencies from requirements.txt
pip install -r requirements.txt

Note: You must use source .venv/bin/activate (not just .venv/bin/activate) to properly activate the virtual environment.

3. Configure Notion Integration

  1. Create Integration:

  2. Share a Page:

    • Open any page in Notion
    • Click "Share" β†’ "Invite"
    • Add your integration
    • Copy the page ID from URL
  3. Update .env:

    NOTION_TOKEN=your_integration_token_here
    NOTION_DATABASE_ID=your_page_id_here # Note: Despite the name, use a PAGE ID, not database ID

4. Run the Demo

# Execute the demonstration script
python examples/demo_script.py
