The broadcast controller that came from the broadcastActivityViewController wasn't being stored anywhere, which in turn made it be deinstantiated, thus not able to broadcast the screen.
Fixes a crash when trying to access the microphone label from code.

I suggest updating the tutorial with the changes from ba60176, as they're necessary for live broadcasting to work now, if they weren't already.
