Background to the revision of GSBPM and GAMSO

The Generic Statistical Business Process Model (GSBPM) and the Generic Activity Model for Statistical Organisation (GAMSO) are used by many statistical organisations for the standard-based modernisation. These models are periodically revised to ensure that they maintain their relevance.

This revision is conducted by a dedicated task team under the Supporting Standards Group of the High-Level Group for Modernisation of Official Statistics (HLG-MOS).

New GAMSO version 2.0 for Consultation

Based on the processing of suggestions received in the initial round of consultation, the task team has prepared a draft of GAMSO v2.0 for a further round of consultation (until DATE). Detailed response to consultation comments can be found here .

Previous update of the related GSBPM (version 5.2)

The new version of the GSBPM v5.2 was endorsed by the Conference of European Statisticians in June 2025.
