the copyright seems broken when I just run `scribbu`

customize_welcome is no longer working-- the final call to scm_variable_set_x(scm_version, scm_new) has no effect?

• tho customizing the load path still does
• fallback-- just printf()-ing the welcome seems to work
• worked on guile 2.2.4 & 2.2.6 (Debian-slim & arch, resp.)
