4 point editing with time stretching

Hello, and thank you for creating this. It does the brunt of my editing work.

A feature request that would certainly speed up the fixing of tempo differences for me when I record orchestral music would be if it was possible to switch on a mode that caused 4-point edits to be time-stretched to fit the destination project's time selection.

This would make replacing a bar or two that sounds great but is a bit too slow a much easier feat than it would be today.

Do you think this could technically be done?

It's an interesting feature to have. I don't think time-stretching in classical music is a good idea sound-wise, but I haven't tried it by myself and YMMV.

Answering your question: I think it's possible, there are functions to manage take stretch markers in the API. An open question is how to behave, when there are some time stretching already present in source projects. Besides that, it shouldn't be hard to implement.

I'm focused on other project right now, so I'm not planning to implement this feature in the upcoming months, but I'm open to pull requests and would be happy to review them :)

This is amazing! Also, the time-stretching thing is very much a thing, both for the situations that I mentioned, but also pretty much for every ballet production I do. It happens around 10-15 times a year that a production needs a certain recording, but they need a lot of changes in tempo due to things like “spinny thingy go to fast” and/or “it’s impossible to maintain jump airtime for that long” (certainly not talking them down, they’re amazing at what they do).  So far, I’ve been able to achieve reasonable results within 17 % stretching in either direction (or in extreme cases 30 %), but that depends on the material.  I should probably get into LUA for this sort of thing.
