mpr.device signal not found (in Max)

I have recently returned to using libmapper in Max after many years of being out of the loop.

I am using Version 2.4.4b of libmapper-max.

My first step has been to update my karlax programming, which used [map.......] objects. All [map....] objects have been replaced by [mpr.....] objects and Max Console no longer reports any errors

So far, so good

Now, when I close the karlax patch, Max Console is reporting mpr.device signal not found (see below). This only occurs when I close the Max patch.

Based on past historical experiences with libmapper, I know the syntax and arguments in the libmapper Max objects have changed with time. Could this be an issue? Is the syntax used with objects, when they were named [map], still the same as the syntax used by [mpr]?

By the way, I ran webmapper from source and mapperGUI was correctly displaying all [mpr.in] objects of my karlax patch

Any suggestions? Do I even need to be concerned about these error messages?

Hi @dandrewstewart – this error is printed if the mpr.device object is notified that a signal is being removed and can't find a reference to the libmapper signal. I'm not sure why this situation would arise, but if you want to share the max patches with me I can have a look!

Thank you @malloch . Instead of sending my entire karlax patch, I'll try to reproduce the issue with a lighter patch. Stay tuned.....
