Enhancement of SortableList

one way i think would be incredibly beneficial to enhance this is when you want to "Add new item..." it auto completes possibly from a list of elements from a pre defined list instead of just being free text?

I'm almost contemplating turning that into a separate widget. that kind of feels like one of the old school selectize elements. I'm not against the idea, but maybe I want to collect a little bit more feedback back before adding this change here.

Maybe, we can also have an option for templated elements??

For example (in "Composition of Elementary Linear Transformation"), we can:
:: Rotate clockwise by {{num_deg}} degrees
:: Scale in {{x|y}} direction by {{k}} units
:: Shear in {{x|y}} direction by {{k}} units
:: Flip on {{x|y}} axis

In this example, the order matters, and the user can change order to see how order affects final transformation and add more elementary transformations using one of these templates.

The idea behind example is to explain how any linear transformation can be broken down in simpler, elementary transformations, which can be wonderfully by SortableList. But, currently, I can't go vice-versa, that is, give students the option to combine elementary transformations into a complex transformation.

In other words:

1. ability to use built-in marimo UI-elements in SortableList (and maybe other simple widgets, iff easily extensible)
2. providing templates and optionally enforcing them (as original idea being discussed here)

P.S. Thanks for making such a wonderful collection of widgets, found them handy many times.

I am not sure if I follow. Why can't you use f-strings for this? We cannot allow generic marimo UI elements to go in because you cannot host anywidgets within anywidgets and you also cannot mix marimo widgets within anywidgets.

You could, however, make a dictionary with key: value pairs and then use the keys in a sortable list?
