Description
I need to simulate in FEBio the behavior of an artery under a physiological pressure of 120 mmHg. Inside the artery, there must be the presence of a calcified plaque, modeled as a linear elastic material stiffer than the arterial wall. I have tried several approaches to solve the problem: using merged objects or creating the plaque through extrusion, but in both cases I obtain a negative Jacobian error. I also tried modeling the interaction between the artery and the plaque using a contact interface only, but this leads to results that are not physically meaningful. Are there other approaches that I could try?
