Install plugins

We should prepare a list of plugins we would like to have installed on the FAIR website. I'll start by proposing a few; it's more important to me that we install plugins doing these tasks than these specific plugins, so if you have another suggestion, don't hesitate.

• Yoast SEO

We should do some basic SEO on the site.

With multisite, if we send an email activation and the user doesn't receive it, we don't have a lot of options. Having some ability to manage this would be beneficial.

• Gravity Forms

We don't need them right now, but at some point we're likely to need to be able to set up forms. I'm biased towards Gravity Forms because they are highly accessible.

SEO & marketing

I fully agree that the site needs an SEO plugin, even if only to make sure our pages look good when shared on social media, etc.
My personal preference would also be to install Yoast SEO. I can reach out to them to see if they'd be willing to provide a free Premium subscription while we don't have a budget yet.

Security

It might be a good idea to also add a security solution, like PatchStack.

Features

Resolve email activation problems

I agree that installing Unconfirmed is a good idea as email delivery simply isn't always reliable.

Forms

Personally, I'm a big fan of WS Form. Even their free version is pretty feature complete. That said, I also don't object to using Gravity Forms, if others like that better and are willing to pay for a license.

Managing comments

As we intend to at some point blog on fair.pm as well, it would probably be a good idea to install a comment management plugin like Comment Experience.

I think we should keep the plugins we run on Fair.pm as slim as possible for now, so only install things that we either definitely need or things that are highly likely to be needed.

I'll be reviewing all content and code, so no need for an accessibility checker.

Query Monitor is already installed.

Let's add to this list. In the tech meeting on Jan 19, 2026, we agreed that we should be more generous about adding plugins that we might need; if we're wrong, we can always remove them in a future deploy.

Planning to set a date to deploy in late January to add more plugins and update AspireExplorer and the theme.
