Low FPS on macOS

...is much worse than iD's (at the same location):

I only get ~20 FPS instead of ~60 on a 4K 60Hz external display.

There's a known issue where very long ways (like 10-100km) cause slowdowns.

There's a known issue where very long ways (like 10-100km) cause slowdowns.

It seems like to me that the amount of rendered elements is what decreases the FPS too much. See 47.4974461, 19.0544168 for a similar element density and FPS.
