"Boot into the desktop mode first" option in settings

There are times when I use Steam Deck as a regular PC connected to a monitor. I would love to have this option in the settings somewhere.
Just simple yes no options. No by default.

You can do that if you create a file like this:

$ cat /etc/sddm.conf.d/zz-steamos-autologin.conf
[Autologin]
Session=plasmax11.desktop

[Sunspark-007]

KDE Plasma as of version 6.6 on Feb 17th, 2026 will discontinue use of sddm.

Remember to update your settings in about 2 years. 😆
