[BOUNTY] Mine on Exotic Hardware — Bonus RTC for Unusual Architectures (Pool: 200 RTC) #168

Description

@Scottcjn

Exotic Hardware Mining — Bonus RTC (Pool: 200 RTC)

We already have PowerPC G4, G5, POWER8, Apple Silicon, and x86 miners. We want MORE architectures on the network. Mine on something unusual and earn a bonus.

Hardware We Want

Architecture Bonus Examples
SPARC 25 RTC Sun SPARCstation, UltraSPARC, SPARC T-series
MIPS 25 RTC SGI Octane/Indy, Loongson, MIPS Malta, routers
PA-RISC 30 RTC HP 9000 series, HP-UX workstations
Alpha 30 RTC DEC Alpha, AlphaStation, AlphaServer
Itanium 20 RTC HP Integrity, Intel IA-64
68K 30 RTC Classic Mac, Amiga, Atari ST, NeXT
ARM (SBC) 10 RTC Raspberry Pi, BeagleBone, Pine64, RISC-V boards
RISC-V 25 RTC StarFive, SiFive, Milk-V, LicheeRV
s390x 30 RTC IBM System z, zSeries mainframes
Other 20+ RTC Surprise us!

How to Claim

  1. Install Python 3.x on your exotic hardware (or we'll help you port it)
  2. Run the miner for at least 24 hours
  3. Comment below with:
    • Hardware model and architecture
    • Photo of the machine (we love hardware photos!)
    • Your miner ID from the attestation log
    • Screenshot of `uname -a` or equivalent showing the architecture

Rules

  • Must be real hardware (not QEMU emulating SPARC, etc.)
  • First to mine on each architecture gets the bonus (one bonus per arch)
  • Must sustain 24+ hours of mining
  • Photo of actual hardware required — we want to see the machines!

Current Network Architectures

Already mining (no bonus):

  • x86_64 (modern PCs) — 1.0x multiplier
  • PowerPC G4 — 2.5x multiplier
  • PowerPC G5 — 2.0x multiplier
  • POWER8 — 2.0x multiplier
  • Apple Silicon (M2) — 1.15x multiplier

Never mined (bonus eligible): SPARC, MIPS, PA-RISC, Alpha, Itanium, 68K, RISC-V, s390x, and anything else weird.

Need Help Porting?

The miner is Python — if your exotic hardware runs Python 3.x, it can probably mine. Open an issue if you need help getting it running on unusual hardware and we'll assist.

Why This Matters

RustChain's Proof of Antiquity rewards hardware diversity. The more architectures on the network, the stronger the proof that real diverse hardware is participating — not a cloud farm of identical VMs.
