Recovering from a failed hard drive

One major function of ELS is a back-up tool. The flip-side is how to recover from the loss of a storage device.

It's simple:

• Replace the storage device with one or more of equal or greater capacity
• Adjust the Library accordingly
• Run ELS in reverse:
  • The publisher becomes the subscriber
  • The back-up becomes the publisher
  • In the case of segmented back-ups where multiple systems carry a portion:
    • Same, run ELS on each back-up as publisher
